Where am I again?

Yes... I'm getting very confused.

So Milan? Noooot a fan. I get hit on (impressively with my backpack on and sweat running down my face) pretty much once every few blocks in the on hour hike it took me to get to my hostel... which was an expensive dump. There was some kind of bug all over the walls of the shower, and it's eggs in the corner running up to the ceiling. Oh and mold everywhere in between.

When I first stepped out of the train station there was some sort of street rave going on... which was... interesting?

I guess I just didn't like Milan because it'd take me an hour to move 2 inches across the map, and not see anything in between. In fact, the only pictures I have of Milan are of the train station... when I realized I had no pictures of it.

I hung out with this Boston girl last night and we walked to the station this morning, and all the while we never got each other's names. She did tell me I can pretty much skip seeing anything in Ruben city so long as I see the Duoma, which in the pictures she showed me were incredible.

I had every intention of seeing it... until I saw the left luggage line was a 30-45 minute wait and coated €5. I considered hiking it with my back, but it wasnt worth it. Instead I waited 40 minutes to get train info, from a wildly inefficient system of call numbers. Literally watched the screen the entire time I wait, but didn't know it was my turn until it flashed quickly across the screen- no warning of all the numbers that were up there.

I board my train, sitting next to a nice Australian woman and her kid, and I'm finally off to Florence. About halfway there we hear a woman screaming in German, saying "stop it! Stop it!" And hitting the man she's with, who's trying to calm her down. At first I was pretty terrified, thinking someone was going to get shot of course, then remembered I'm in Europe. Anyway, more to that whole story, but it was crazy.

I get to Florence, and it's lovely. I have a roommate that hates it and kept talking bad about it before I went out (granted she definitely has her reasons) but it's really lovely, I like it. Definitely a shopping town, but lots of historical stuff, architecture and of course art (hello, the David!) I went shopping and walking around most of the day, and it was really nice.

Oh, so my first pizza was in Milan... made by Asians (hey nothing against them, I was just expecting something more authentic). I got another today, and it was "ehh". I know you're supposed to get pizzas from somewhere more south, like Naples- which I origionally planned to go to-do but I can't do it anymore, sooooo I'm trying to make the best of it, and honeslty? Mellow Mushroom, Isabella's, Italian Pie... all much better than the 2 I've had so far. Oh and that green little town, as well as the one by the lake... one day I'm going there. For real. Mostly beautiful thing I've seen this whole trip.
